Caring for Our Community: Health Measures at A11y Camp

At A11y Camp, we’re committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Here’s what you need to know about our health and safety protocols:

Respect for Mask Choices

We understand that some members of our community may be more vulnerable to illness. We fully support anyone who chooses to wear a mask during the event. Whether it’s for your own comfort or to protect others, you’re welcome to make the choice that’s best for you. However, please be mindful that some members of our community rely on lip reading for communication. If possible, consider stepping back and temporarily lowering your mask when speaking with someone who reads lips, while maintaining a safe distance.

Hand Sanitiser Stations

You’ll find plenty of hand sanitiser available throughout the venue. Please make use of it regularly to help maintain a healthy environment.

Spare Masks Available

If you find yourself in need of a mask, don’t worry—we’ll have some spares on hand. Just ask one of the team.

Feeling Unwell?

If you’re feeling under the weather, even with mild symptoms, please don’t attend the event. If you start feeling unwell at any point during the day, we kindly ask that you head home to rest and recover.

We’ll miss you, but your health—and the health of our attendees—is our top priority.

First Aid and Emergencies

MCEC’s main first aid room is located off the Convention Centre foyer, adjacent to the security Control room. A smaller first aid room is located off the Exhibition Centre foyer. Please contact security for first aid assistance on +61 3 9235 8333.

Thank you for helping us keep A11y Camp a safe, inclusive, and healthy experience for all!
