    Accessibility Information for the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre (ICC Sydney)

    A11y Camp will be held in the Cockle Bay rooms on the Level 3 of the Convention Centre of the Sydney International Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICC Sydney). It can be accessed by stairs, escalator and lifts.  

    ICC Sydney has many accessible features. There is also a virtual tour of the venue on their website.

    A map of the venue will be provided to registered attendees. Level 3 can be accessed by by stairs, escalator and lifts near the Convention Centre Customer Service desk (ground floor lobby) of the Convention Centre building of ICC Sydney.

    Wheelchair access and hire

    ICC Sydney has step-free and lift/elevator access throughout the venue.

    Wheelchairs are available to hire free of charge with provision of photo identification. To hire a wheelchair, please see one of our friendly customer service team members at any of the following locations:

    Wheelchairs can be hired from the Convention Centre Customer Service (ground floor lobby).

    Assisted hearing

    The Cockle Bay rooms use IR “infra-red” hearing augmentation systems which provide access via a neck-loop (personal induction loop) or lightweight headset.

    Complimentary hearing augmentation devices (receivers) are available and can be provided to you free of charge with a form of photo identification.

    You can collect either a personal induction loop or a set of lightweight headphones with receiver from ICC Sydney’s Customer Service Desk upon arrival to access this service.

    The hired device must remain on ICC Sydney premises and be returned at the conclusion of the day.

    It is recommended that people who use a hearing aid or Cochlear implant utilise the hearing augmentation system.

    Vision impairment

    Braille is provided on all room door signage and fixed directional signage throughout the venue. There is tactile flooring at main entryways, staircases, and escalators.

    Assistance animals 

    Assistance animals are welcome at ICC Sydney and A11y Camp. ICC Sydney requests their identification badge or medallion be easily visible. 

    There will be seating so your companion animal can sit comfortably next to you. 

    The closest area for toileting assistance animals will be the Cockle Bay Lawn outside ICC Sydney and opposite Planar Restaurant. A11y Camp team members will be available to assist or provide directions. ICC staff will also be able to help direct people to the lawn. 

    Bowls of water can be provided. 

    Toilets

    An accessible toilet is located near the Cockle Bay Rooms.

    Changing Places 

    The Changing Places is located on Level 2 of Exhibition Centre. 

    If you need directions to either Changing Places, please ask our friendly team at the registration desk.

    Quiet room

    ICC Sydney has a quiet room located on Ground Floor of the Convention Centre, near the Customer Service desk.

    A11y Camp will provide an additional quiet room/chillout space near the Cockle Bay rooms on Level 3.

    Hidden Disability Sunflower 

    ICC Sydney is a Hidden Disability Sunflower friendly venue. 

    A11y Camp recognises the Hidden Disability Sunflower. Please don’t hesitate to approach A11y Camp staff if you need some extra help. 

    Accessible parking 

    Car Park 1 (P1) is the closest car park to the Cockle Bay rooms where A11y Camp is being held. It is located on the ground floor of Exhibition Centre. There are 8 accessible car spaces in P1. 

    Getting there

    A11y Camp will take place in the Cockle Bay rooms on Level 3 of the Sydney International Convention and Exhibition Centre, also called ICC Sydney. 

    You can get to ICC Sydney by car or public transport. 

    By Public Transport

    You can find updated public transport information on the Transport NSW website or you can call 131 500.

    By Metro 

    ICC Sydney is about a 15 minute walk from Central or Gadigal Station. 

    By Light rail 

    The Convention and Exhibition stops on the Dulwich Hill L1 line are the closest to ICC Sydney. 

    By bus 

    ICC Sydney has its own bus stop. Bus routes 389 and 501 stop at Harris Street near Allen Street, a 10-minute walk from ICC Sydney. 

    By Ferry   

    You can take a ferry to Darling Harbour from Circular Quay, with direct services to King Street Wharf or Pyrmont Bay Wharf. Captain Cook Cruises also operates services between Darling Harbour Convention Wharf, Barangaroo King Street Wharf No. 1, and Circular Quay. 

    By Water Taxi   

     A water taxi is a convenient way to reach Darling Harbour. They depart from The Rocks, Circular Quay, The Opera House, and Luna Park. 

    By Taxi, Rideshare, or Drop-off

    The best taxi and ride share drop off and pick up for ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre is located on the northern end of Darling Drive in Iron Wharf Place, opposite of Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour.  

    Getting to ICC Sydney from Sydney Airport

    When you arrive at Sydney Airport , you have three options:

    Train & Light Rail (Best Public Transport)

    • Step 1: Catch the Airport Link train (T8 Airport & South Line) from either the International or Domestic Airport stations and ride it to Central Station (~15 minutes).
    • Step 2: From the Central Station Grand Concourse, transfer to the L1 Dulwich Hill Light Rail.
    • Step 3: Disembark at the Convention Centre or Exhibition Centre stop, which drops you directly at the ICC Sydney.
    • Tips: You can tap on and off with an Opal card, contactless credit card, or mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay)

    Train & Walk

    • Step 1: Catch the Airport Link train from the airport to Central Station.
    • Step 2: Walk from Central Station through the scenic pedestrian walkway called The Goods Line directly to the ICC Sydney. This walk takes about 10–15 minutes.

    Taxi or Rideshare (Fastest & Most Direct)

    • Travel Time: ~20 to 25 minutes depending on traffic.
    • Cost: Estimated $40–$75 AUD.
    • Drop-off Locations: Direct drop-offs at the ICC Sydney are accessible via Darling Drive, with primary drop-off loops located at Iron Wharf Place or Zollner Circuit.

    Parking at the venue

    Exhibition Centre (Car Park 1) is the closest car park to the Cockle Bay rooms where A11y Camp is being held. It is located on the ground floor of Exhibition Centre. There are 8 accessible car spaces in P1.

    Additionally, there are a number of secure car parks located in and around Darling Harbour including Harbourside Car Park. For a full list of car parking facilities, please visit the Darling Harbour website.

    Entry instructions

    The main entrance to the Convention Centre, also called the “Ceremonial Doors”, is located on the ground floor. The customer service desk is located inside these doors.  

    You can access the entrance from Tumbalong Boulevard, the Convention light rail crossing, the vehicle drop-off area at Iron Wharf Place, and Car Park 1 (P1). All routes to the entrance are step-free and accessible.

    If you are arriving from another ICC Sydney entrance, follow the signs to the Convention Centre and look for directions to the Cockle Bay rooms. 

    The Cockle Bay rooms can be reached using step-free accessible paths and lifts throughout the venue. ICC Sydney staff are also available if you need help finding your way. 

    If you’re unsure where to go, you can visit the customer service desk at the Convention Centre entrance for assistance. 

    There will also be A11y Camp team members around to help you find your way. They will be identifiable by their red T-shirts with A11y Camp in large letters on the front. 

    After Entry instructions

    Once you reach the Convention Centre entrance, you will need to access Level 3 where the Cockle Bay rooms are located. A11y Camp signage will be displayed, and we are happy to orientate anyone through the venue.

    To access the third floor you have 3 options:

    1. Stairs – There is a large staircase to the right of the Customer Service desk.
    2. Escalator – There is an escalator to the right of the Customer Service desk, next to the staircase.
    3. Lift – The entrances to the lift are located at Ground Floor level, to the right of the Customer Service Desk. Once you come out on Level 3, turn left.
